A self-care weekend is the perfect opportunity to unwind, relax, and indulge in things you enjoy and keep you happy. The thought of waking up later, drinking coffee, and watching Netflix sounds amazing.

We're always so busy focusing on work that we forget to prioritize ourselves. A self-care weekend is the perfect opportunity to escape the fast-paced life and put yourself first by doing something that makes you happy.

As the weekend approaches, here are some self-care weekend ideas that will help you recharge and relieve stress.

Are you ready for a weekend of enjoyment and relaxation? Get yourself ready for a weekend full of relaxation activities that will bring happiness and make you feel rejuvenated.

1. Clean your home.

It's important to have a clean space, so the first thing I do on weekends is clean the whole house. It encourages you to be more productive and gives you a sense of accomplishment. And you'll be able to enjoy your self-care weekend in a clean space.

2. Go for a walk.

A healthy way to practise self-care is to go for a walk. Walking clears your head and keeps you active. Walking is one of the best ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle and lose a couple of pounds. It's truly one of the most underrated ways to lose weight.

3. Make your favourite snack.

I mean, we all deserve a reward at the end of the week, right? I love making a sugary desert snack on Saturdays to snack on while I'm watching Netflix.

4. A long, hot bath

Get your bath salts and candles ready and have a long, steamy, hot bath.

Having a long bath is a great way to relieve the stresses you had during the week. Not only does it relax your muscles, it also calms your mind. Preparing you for a good night's rest.

5. Drink coffee

Go to your favourite coffee shop, or if you're like me and you love experimenting with a coffee maker creating different lattes, invest in a good Nespresso machine  and give yourself a cosy cup of coffee.

8. Start a side hustle.

Your weekend time can also be used to start a new business. This can potentially turn your passion into a full-time business. Having a business that matches your hobbies and interests can be incredibly fulfilling and rewarding.

9. Visit your family

If you already live with your family, do fun activities together like playing games or going sight-seeing. If you live alone, meet up and connect with your loved ones.

10. Sight seeing

I'm an introvert through and through. I love being in my space and spending time alone; however, occasionally I do feel the need to step out of my routine and take part in activities that align with my personality and interests. Getting out more will do wonders for your overall mood and boost your confidence.

11. Shopping

Being an adult means taking on boring tasks such as shopping and making them exciting. Trying out new stores and exploring new products like perfumes and eco-friendly make-up is definitely self-care.

12. Sit outside and enjoy nature.

The weekend is all about slowing down, enjoying the weather, relaxing, and taking time to connect with nature. I enjoy sitting outside and listening to birds chirping while drinking my coffee because it clears my head and improves my mood.

13. Spend time with your pet.

They're great companions. They're cute and entertaining. They encourage you to step out of your comfort zone by going on walks and exploring hiking trails.

14. Yoga

Yoga is an amazing way to reduce stress and relax while improving strength and flexibility.

15. Enjoy a Self care kit

Enjoy some me-time with a collection of self care products that are made for you to enjoy.

16. Cook your favourite dinner.

Weekends are perfect for cooking your favourite comfort dish, and if you're feeling lazy, there are dozens of subscription meal kits out there you can try.

17. Listen to music.

Incorporating music as part of a self-care weekend is fun and relaxing.

Having good music playing in the background and dancing while you're cleaning is the kind of fun you need to be having.

18. Plan your upcoming week.

Planning your week is also a form of self-care. Get out your journal and plan for the week ahead. You want to start the upcoming week on a good note. Allocating important tasks accordingly will relieve the stresses of the upcoming week and improve your time management.

19. Watch a feel-good movie or series.

Weekends are a great opportunity to catch up on your favourite TV shows or movies. Lately, I've been binge-watching the TV show Manifest on Netflix, which is so good!

20. Have a good cry.

Every once in a while, it's okay to let all your emotions out in the open. Crying is a way to acknowledge and process what you're going through, and if you are going through something right now, allow yourself to feel everything and have a good cry. There are studies that show that crying helps ease both physical and emotional pain.
